Power Women:

An Interview With Ming Zhao

Dr. Sheryl Evans Davis of The San Francisco Human Rights Commission On How To Successfully Navigate Work, Love and Life As A Powerful Woman

Practice Creativity — There are numerous benefits to practicing creativity. Growing up in church, there was public speaking, singing and dance. I always felt a little better after leaving church because the music was calming and the preaching felt like spoken word and flowed like poetry. Research suggests creativity reduces anxiety, depression, and stress, it can also help process trauma.

How does a successful, strong, and powerful woman navigate work, employee relationships, love, and life in a world that still feels uncomfortable with strong women? In this interview series, called “Power Women” we are talking to accomplished women leaders who share their stories and experiences navigating work, love and life as a powerful woman.

As a part of this series, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Sheryl Evans Davis.

Sheryl Evans Davis, EdD is Executive Director of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, appointed by Mayor Edwin Lee in 2016.
